Cricket - More Than A Game
A selection of photographs from a six month project as Photographer in Residence with Durham County Cricket Club during their
inaugral season in the First Class County Championships 1992.
Concentrating on 'off field' activity rather than sporting action, the images capture the good humour and spirit of a truly Northern cricket club.
A touring exhibition was organised by Durham County Council Arts Libraries & Museums in 1993. The exhibition was subsequently shown at The Durham Art Gallery, Grey Art Gallery Hartlepool, The Bowes Museum and The MCC Museum Lords Cricket Ground London.
The work is now in the permanent collection of The DLI / Durham Art Gallery.
A selection of 40 prints were included in the Queen Anne Press publication " Durham - Past - Present - Future" written by cricketer David Graveny & commentator Jack Bannister.
A double page feature appeared also in the British Journal of Photography in celebration of the touring show.
In 2008 season Durham County Cricket Club were crowned winners of the County Championships.
